Hearts of Oak midfielder Hussein Mohammed says the Phobians must keep chasing victories after three league wins in a row.
Hearts of Oak are flying in the Ghana Premier League, but Hussein Mohammed refuses to let the Phobians settle. The attacking midfielder says a three-match winning streak is only the beginning for a club of their stature.
Mohammed believes complacency is the biggest danger now. For him, the weight of the Hearts of Oak name means supporters expect far more than a good run, and he feels the squad has plenty left to give. "We are Hearts of Oak," he said, making clear that the standards at the club are high and the fans want to see them met.
He also stressed what matters most to the faithful: results. According to Mohammed, supporters simply want wins, and the squad plans to keep that mentality, taking the season one game at a time and staying locked in on their own performances.
The next test comes on Sunday, when Hearts travel to Debibi Presby Park to face newly promoted Debibi United, with a fourth consecutive victory up for grabs. Last weekend the Phobians ground out a 1-0 win over Basake Holy Stars at the UG Sports Stadium, a result that lifted them to second in the table. Another win would keep the pressure on at the top and show that this Hearts side means business.
