ITTF Confirms Quadri Aruna and Others' Qualification for Paris Olympic Games

Share

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has officially confirmed the qualification of several athletes, including Nigeria's Quadri Aruna and Algeria's Lynda Loghraibi, for the singles event of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

With less than 50 days to the games, the ITTF announced that eight athletes have secured their spots through continental quotas allocated by world ranking.

The qualified athletes represent Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe, adding diversity and excitement to the competition.

In the men's singles draw, Quadri Aruna (Nigeria) and Nicolas Burgos (Chile) will compete alongside Kirill Gerassimenko (Kazakhstan) and Alvaro Robles (Spain).

The women's singles competition features Lynda Loghraibi (Algeria), Adriana Diaz (Puerto Rico), Zhou Jingyi (Singapore), and Yang Xiaoxin (Monaco).

The final world ranking update before the games will determine the remaining competitors.

Eighty-six men and eighty-six women will compete in the singles events.

The ITTF also named three African umpires - Akram Ben Attia (Tunisia), Es-Sayed Elrawdy (Egypt), and Ronald Mugwanya (Uganda) - for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
