Ivorian international Wilfried Bony joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad as a free agent. The former City striker has been out of the competitive game since July 2019 after playing for Ivory Coast in Africa Cup of Nation at Egypt
The striker said he is excited to compete in a traditional club like this. The 32-year-old who was on loan with Qatar club Al-Arabi in the half of the second season, played seven games and scored five goals.
Bony from Dutch club Vitesse joined Swansea city for 12 million Euros transfer in the English Premier League. He scored 35 goals in 70 appearances for Swansea before moving to Manchester City in January 2015 for a 28 million Euros deal.
He struggled for match-time when Pep Guardiola arrived as a coach for Man City. And he was loan to Stock City 2016-2017 season and he returned to Swansea . He was again loan to Al-Arabi in Saudi Arabi before he was a latter released by Swansea in May 2019.
He played 51 game for his country Ivory Coast and scored 14 goals. He was part of the Ivory Coast team the beat Ghana in the penalty shoot-out in Bata, Equatorial Guinea to win the 2015 Africa cup of Nation.
