James Wiseman can return to play on upcoming road trip for Warriors

On Friday, the Golden State Warriors begin a four-game East Coast road trip versus the Orlando Magic.

The hope within the organization is that rookie James Wiseman will be able to play at some point during the trek that will also stop in Charlotte, New York and Indianapolis.

Wiseman said this week that he is making good progress from a sprained left wrist suffered on Jan. 30 versus the Detroit Pistons.

He has started dribbling and shooting during the non-contact portions of practice and has experienced no setbacks to this point.

“(Since) it’s a sprained wrist, you don’t know if it could be one week, two weeks or three weeks,” Wiseman said on Tuesday. “I’m just following each procedure, but there are no setbacks. I’m just trying to improve and get better each day. It’s most definitely getting better, so I can’t wait to get back out there, which should be pretty soon.”

Wiseman, in 20 games this season, is averaging 12.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. He ranks fifth in scoring average among all rookies while he is second in rebounding.
