<span style="font-weight: 400"> A game changer within the community as being the 1st black female to be appointed such a position. </span>
<span style="color: #0e101a">King has served as Washington's assistant running back coach for the past 2020 season as a coaching intern. Due to the unforeseen events of Washington’s COVID-19 outbreak, head running back coach Randy Jordan was sidelined. </span>

<span style="color: #0e101a">Head coach Ron Rivera shared his sentiments on King’s promotion, saying <em><strong>“sky's the limit” </strong></em>.</span>
<em><strong><span style="color: #0e101a">“She is a hard worker, a great communicator and a quality person," Rivera said in January.</span></strong></em>
<em><strong>"Coach King is always eager to learn and has shown tremendous growth since starting here last season ... the sky truly is the limit for her."</strong></em>
