A short-handed Denver erased a 23-point deficit and Nikola Jokić added another triple-double to his legend in a 141-135 overtime thriller.
Nikola Jokić refused to let a rough night turn into a loss. The Denver Nuggets, missing key players, clawed back from 23 points down to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 141-135 in overtime on Saturday night.
The mood inside the arena was sour at halftime, with Nuggets fans voicing their displeasure as the team trailed badly. After the comeback, Jokić made his own feelings clear, saying booing fans were "not welcome."
When it mattered most, the two-time MVP took over. Jokić finished with 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, scoring eight of those points in the extra period to close out the Pelicans.
It was also his 199th regular-season triple-double, which puts him second all-time behind Russell Westbrook, who retired with 209. At this pace, that record is firmly in his sights.
