Juventus stun Roma in a Serie A drama with 7 goals

Share
Juventus beat Roma 4-3 in the 21st round of Serie A. The Old Lady achieved a great comeback after being two goals down until the 70th minute. However, Massimiliano Allegri's players managed to score three goals in just seven minutes to get the win.
Paulo Dybala, Manuel Locatelli, Dejan Kulushevski and Mattia De Sciglio were on the scoresheet for Juve. Tammy Abraham,Henrikh Mkhitariyan and Lorenzo Pellegrini scored for Roma. The Turin side finished the game with 10 men after Matthijs de Ligt recieved a second yellow card in the 81st minute. Roma started the match very lively and in the 7th minute Abraham came close to scoring but Szczęsny saved his header. Just 4 minutes later, however, the Englishman got the better off the Pole. After Jordan Veretout's cross from a corner, Abraham rose highest and headed Roma into the lead. In the 18 minute Juventus got the equalizer. Federico Chiesa found the unmarked Paulo Dybala on the edge of the box. The Argentine sent a perfeclty placed left-footed curler past Rui Patricio. The first half ended 1-1. https://twitter.com/OfficialASRoma/status/1480247608664801280 Roma took the lead again early in the second half. Mkhitariyan recieved the ball from Pellegrini on the edge of the penalty area. His shot took a massive deflection off Mattia De Sciglio and looped over Wojciech Szczęsny, leaving him rooted to his spot. In the 53rd minute the Lupi got a 2 goal cushion. Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini scored, as what can only be described, a perfect free kick. He got the ball up and over the wall, curling away from Szczęsny into the top left corner. At this point the game looked kinda done. Allegri introduced Alvaro Morata  to the game and what a substitution that would turn out to be. Just a few minutes after coming on, Morata crossed the ball on the edge of the six-yard box where Locatelli was left unmarked and scored a header to make it 3-2. A couple minutes later, Morata was in a good position inside the box. His shot was blocked but Dejan Kulusevski scored the rebound to get the equalizer. VAR reviewed the situation, after which referee Davide Massa ruled that there was nothing wrong and the goal stood. In the 77th minute Juventus took advantage of the shaken hosts. Chris Smalling's failed clearance got De Sciglio into a good position in the box and the fullback gave Juve the lead with a powerful shot in the left corner. Four minutes later, however, the referee awarded Roma a penalty. After a VAR check, Massa gave Matthijs de Ligt' his second yellow and a spot kick to Roma. Up stepped captain Pellegrini again. What followed was not nearly as good as his free kick. The penalty was straigh at the keeper and he also missed the rebound. https://twitter.com/juventusfc/status/1480260818352709632 Both teams had chances in the dying minutes of the game, nevertheless the result remained unchanged. After their win, Juventus are in fifth place with 38 points. Leaders Milan have 48. Roma are eight with 32.
