Not long after a GoFundMe page was created on Thursday to help cover the funeral costs for a young man by the name of Christopher Victor Romero, who passed away on August 11, someone donated three-quarters of the fundraiser’s requested $10,000. That person was none other than Karl-Anthony Towns. A former Kentucky Wildcat and current center for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Towns donated $7,500 to help fund the funeral service for the family.
The struggles for Towns on a personal level have been well-documented over the last year. The passing of his mother and several family members due to COVID-19, later contracting the disease himself, and then being hit by a drunk driver in the offseason. We must take notice off Karl's good actions.
