The Warriors' shooting guard, Klay Thompson made his return to NBA, following two years off the court. He was once again in a Golden State's jersey on Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The fans in Chase Center were on their feet, welcoming back one of their biggest heroes in the last decade. Klay took some more time to rehab so that he can be back at 100% when the time comes. The shooting guard felt fantastic, wearing №11 for the first time, since 2019.
Klay Thompson started off amazingly, sinking down a driving floating jump shot just under a minute into the game. He then missed 5 consecutive shots before finishing off the half with 7 points.
In the beginning of the third quarter, Klay gave us a flashback from his best years in the NBA. He scored some crucial jump shots which gave the Warriors the first double-digit lead in the game at 60-48.
After missing for 941 straight days, Thompson played a third quarter that was up to his standards. The shooting guard came out firing as if he was not absent for such a long time.
Klay finished off with 17 points on a 7-18 performance for just under 20 minutes of playing time. The quick shooting guard sank three 3-pointers, showing us all that he is still the same player as before. His shooting technique hasn't changed as he once again launched these shots in just a matter of milliseconds.
This will surely be a night to remember for Klay Thompson. There haven't been many players who came back to the NBA, following such an extensive absence. The Warriors' shooting guard helped his team prevail the Cavs, 96-82.
Steph Curry led the way for his team with 28 points, while Kevon Looney came in clutch for the team with his performance in the paint. He grabbed 18 rebounds, thus securing a lot of second chances for the Warriors.
