Asante Kotoko are reportedly weighing a move to bring Ghanaian left-back Imoro Ibrahim home from Tanzania's Singida Black Stars.
Asante Kotoko could be about to welcome a familiar face back to Kumasi. The Porcupine Warriors are reportedly considering a move to re-sign Ghanaian left-back Imoro Ibrahim, who now plays for Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars.
The defender is said to have emerged as a target as Kotoko look to strengthen their squad. His contract situation in Tanzania has reportedly caught the attention of his former employers, though no official agreement has been announced.
Imoro arrived at Kotoko in December 2019 and spent three seasons at the club, becoming a key figure at the back. He was a big part of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title-winning campaign, with 28 league appearances and eight assists. That output earned him a reputation as one of the league's most creative defenders. He helped end the club's eight-year wait for the league crown.
He made more than 50 league appearances for Kotoko before leaving in August 2022 for Sudanese giants Al-Hilal Omdurman. He moved to Tanzania in 2024 after leaving Al-Hilal amid the conflict in Sudan.
A return would give Kotoko a left-back who already knows the club, the supporters and the demands of Ghanaian football. For now it remains a reported interest, but this is one the Kumasi faithful will be watching closely.
