Mohammed Kudus provided the assist for Tottenham's opener, but a late injury scare took the shine off a 3-1 Premier League win over Coventry.
Ghana's Mohammed Kudus was at the heart of Tottenham's Monday night win, creating the opening goal before limping off late in a 3-1 Premier League victory over Coventry City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Kudus started the game and made an early impact. In the 14th minute he teed up James Maddison, who curled a sharp finish from the edge of the penalty area to put the hosts ahead.
Coventry hit back soon after the break. Jack Rudoni pounced on a rebound inside the box in the 49th minute to level the score and give the visitors hope. Spurs responded within minutes, with Omar Marmoush restoring the lead in the 58th minute. He took a pass from Andrew Robertson on the edge of the area and drilled it into the right side of the net.
The worry for Tottenham and for Ghana came in the 87th minute, when Kudus appeared to pick up an injury and limped off. Dejan Kulusevski replaced him, and the extent of the problem is not yet clear.
Ben Davies then wrapped up the points deep in stoppage time. Dominic Solanke supplied the assist, and Davies sent a superb volley in from the edge of the box in the 90th minute to make it 3-1.
