Ghana's Mohammed Kudus earns high praise from Roberto De Zerbi after Tottenham's 2-0 win at Chelsea, their first Premier League victory of the season.
Mohammed Kudus is winning over his new manager. Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has hailed the Ghana international as one of the men who decided Spurs' 2-0 win away at Chelsea, a result that gave the club its first Premier League victory of the campaign.
The Black Stars attacker started at Stamford Bridge and worked for 89 minutes on the wing. De Zerbi pointed to him and Mathys Tel as the difference-makers. "I think we won the game with two wingers, Kudus and Mathys, they made the difference," the Italian said after the final whistle.
The breakthrough came when Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders palmed a Mateus Fernandes corner into his own net. Late in the game, Tel put the result beyond doubt with a brilliant solo goal, sending the travelling Spurs fans into celebration.
The 26-year-old Kudus has made eight appearances across all competitions for Tottenham this season and has set up two goals. He is only just back from injury, and with his manager now openly backing him, he will want to build momentum and cement his place as a key figure in De Zerbi's side.
