Three years after losing his card, Marc Warren finished strong in the HotelPlanner Tour finale to book his return to the DP World Tour.
Marc Warren is heading back to the big stage. The Scot has earned his place on the DP World Tour again, three years after he lost his card, with a gritty finish at the grand final of the second-tier HotelPlanner Tour.
Warren needed a big finish, and he delivered one. A battling run over the final eight holes carried him to a joint-fifth finish, and that was enough to seal his promotion back to the main circuit.
The result closes a testing chapter. Losing a tour card is a blow for any professional, and the road back through the second-tier circuit means long weeks, tight margins and constant pressure to produce. Warren held his nerve when it counted most.
Now he gets another chance at the level he knows well. For a seasoned player who has been through the grind, the return is a reminder that in golf a late surge can change a whole season, and sometimes a whole career.
