Joe Marchant and Will Joseph headline Steve Borthwick's 36-man England squad for the Nations Championship finale in November.
Joe Marchant is heading back into the England picture. The Sale Sharks centre is one of the headline names in Steve Borthwick's 36-man training squad, named on Sunday for the closing stretch of the Nations Championship in November.
The 30-year-old last pulled on an England shirt at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Since then he has spent two seasons at Stade Français in the Top 14, before coming home to the Premiership with Sale for the current campaign. That return to English rugby has clearly caught the head coach's eye.
Marchant is not the only midfield option catching attention. Gloucester's Will Joseph is also in the group, giving Borthwick another body to consider in the centres as selection decisions sharpen ahead of the November window.
With the Nations Championship set to wrap up, depth and form in midfield will matter. Marchant's experience and Joseph's inclusion add competition for places, and the coming weeks in training will show who is ready for the big stage.
