Tom McKibbin sits one shot off the pace in Delhi, with Rory McIlroy three strokes further back after a weather-hit opening day.
Tom McKibbin has put himself right in the thick of it at the DP World India Championship, sitting just one shot off the lead after a first day in Delhi that never quite went to plan thanks to the weather.
The disruption made for a stop-start opening round, and it tested patience as much as shot-making. McKibbin kept his composure through the interruptions and now has the leaders firmly in his sights heading into the next round.
Rory McIlroy is also in contention, three shots behind McKibbin and four off the top spot. It's not the commanding start the big names usually crave, but with so much golf still to play, that gap is very much recoverable for a player of his pedigree.
With the leaderboard tightly packed and more unsettled conditions always a possibility, the next round could shake things up quickly. McKibbin will want to keep pressing, while McIlroy will be looking for a low number to climb back into the mix.
