Ghana's Black Maidens came from behind twice, and substitute Priscilla Mensah's 85th-minute tap-in snatched a 3-3 draw with Brazil in Group C.
Ghana's Black Maidens refused to fold against Brazil. Substitute Priscilla Mensah popped up five minutes from time to snatch a 3-3 draw in their second Group C outing, after the Ghanaians had fought back from a goal down twice.
Brazil struck early, with Nicolly Manuel putting the South Americans ahead inside seven minutes. But Nana Adarkwa's side settled and began to find their rhythm. Defender Rafia Osman climbed above the Brazilian backline in the 31st minute to power home the equaliser. Four minutes later, Gloria Ameaam made it 2-1 and flipped the momentum Ghana's way.
Brazil answered before the break. Kaillany Ranifah levelled in the 44th minute to make it 2-2 at the interval, and Indy put the Brazilians back in front after the restart. Ghana needed another response.
They kept pushing, and it paid off in the 85th minute. Jessica Appiah Asamoah, a constant menace, picked out Mensah, who tapped in from close range off the bench to level at 3-3. Ghana walked away from a wild contest with a point that could matter a great deal in Group C.
