Mike Tyson shares update on his comeback opponent; says contract will be signed this week

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has been talking big on his comeback and the opponent he is set to face.

Iron Mike has been out of the ring for over 15 years, but has announced that the contract for his much-talked-about boxing comeback will be signed this week.

"We've got many guys. Listen we've got so many guys that want to do this man,” he said on Lil Wayne's Young Money Radio.

"We're in calls, we're doing business with guys right now. You're not going to believe the names when the names come out. Some time this week we'll have the contract done.”

The 53-year-old called time on his boxing career in 2005, bringing an end to a career that saw him lose just six times in 58 bouts.

The legendary boxer bowed out as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and, at a point, held the WBA, WBC, and IBF belts at the same time.

Tyson, however, endured a torrid time after retirement, struggling with drug addiction, but he has since turned his life around.

Not only has he been training to keep his body in shape, Tyson is already aware of the opponent he’ll be facing in his comeback fight.

The American’s longtime rival Evander Holyfield had been mooted as a possible opponent, but Iron Mike says fans should expect a bigger name.

He was, however, quick to add that whatever money is made from his comeback bout will go to charity.

"And whatever money we get, it's going to somebody else. I'm not going to make any money - probably the company, my wife because she's partners with me, she'll make some probably. But my money is going [to charity],” he said.

Explaining further, Tyson noted: "Man I'm just getting ready you know, I'm just getting ready to help some people out who are less fortunate than me. I'm gonna do this charity event.

"I'm going to take this money and help these homeless and we're going to help these addicted brothers.”

Tyson added that he’s “feeling better than I've ever felt in my life” and looks forward to serving fans with a good show when he returns to the ring.
