Mouthwatering CAF Champions League Quarter Final Pairings

Share

A draw has been held for clubs to know their opponents for the knock-out stage of the Total Confederation of African Football (CAF) champions league, as the tournament draws nearer to its decisive stage.

Wednesday’s Champions League draw saw defending champions, Esperance of Tunisia paired over two legs with Zamalek at home on the last weekend of February, while Esperance will host the return on March 6 or 7.

Eight-time winners Al Ahly will square it off with Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa at Cairo on February 28 or 29 for the first round of the two-legged in a repeat of last year's quarters clash.

In another glittering quarter-finals encounter, DR Congo giants TP Mazembe will be up against Raja Club Athletic, whilst Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia will contend with Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco, for four teams to book a place in the semi-finals.

The draw, held in the capital of Egypt, Cairo, was graced by former DR Congo forward Shabani Nonda and former Cote d'Ivoire defensive midfielder Didier Zokora, who assisted CAF Director of Competitions, Samson Adamu to conduct the pairings.
