Emmanuel Osei's 76th-minute strike sends Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs top of Ghana's Division One Zone Two, with Nations FC one point behind.
Ghana's UMB Division One League has a proper title race brewing in Zone Two, and Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs are setting the pace. Emmanuel Osei netted in the 76th minute on Sunday to beat newly promoted Pro-Sports Academy 1-0 at the Robert Mensah Stadium, giving the former Premier League side a fourth consecutive victory.
It was a tight, hard-fought contest until Osei broke the deadlock late. The win lifts the Dwarfs to 15 points from six matches, and they stay one point clear at the summit.
The chasing pack is not far behind. Nations FC made a statement with a 3-0 win over regional rivals PAC Academy at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Abdela Mashud opened the scoring in the 10th minute, and an own goal from Owusu Ababio seven minutes later gave the hosts a two-goal cushion at the break. Richard Danso added a fine finish in the 62nd minute to seal it.
That result stretches Nations FC's unbeaten run in Zone Two to six matches and keeps them second on 14 points, just one behind the leaders. Ebony FC sit third after a 1-0 win over Nsuopun Fidelity FC at Ejisu Okese Park on Saturday.
With two former top-flight sides locked in a one-point battle, the promotion push in Zone Two is shaping up to be a thrilling run-in.
