Nathan Tella Wins Bayer Leverkusen’s Goal of the Month for January

Nathan Tella has been recognized for his stunning strike against Borussia Dortmund, winning Bayer Leverkusen’s Goal of the Month award for January.

Tella wins the club award for the first time since joining Leverkusen in August 2023.

The 25-year-old won the award with his ferocious right-footed effort in their 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund on 10 January.

Tella beat Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel with a thumping shot from the edge of the box after being teed up by German midfielder Robert Andrich.

The Nigeria international fended off competition from Alejandro Grimaldo, Florian Wirtz, and Patrik Schick for the honour.

The goal was his first of the season in the Bundesliga, where he has played 17 times for Xabi Alonso’s side, who are second in the league standings with 46 points, eight behind leaders Bayern Munich.
