NBA Eastern Conference finals: Boston Celtics close in on Miami Heat with latest win

Share

The Boston Celtics have closed the gap on the Miami Heat to 3-2 following their victory in the Eastern Conference finals.

The Celtics took a commanding 70-50 lead in the second half and eventually won the game 121-108.

The Heat, however, still lead the best-of-seven series, as they aim to reach their first NBA Finals since 2014.

Jayson Tatum expressed his delight at the win while praising the collective effort of his team in the second half.

"We knew we had to play better. We were fighting for our life. It was going to take a collective effort in the second half, and that's what we did,” Tatum said.

Meanwhile, Celtics coach Brad Stevens said his side will continue to fight on to make the finals.

"Our deal was to come out and play, come out and compete, give it our best shot," he noted.

"We played pretty well in the second half. We're going to have to do it again and again because of the position we're in."
