NBA injury update: Klay Thompson can't wait to make his return for the Golden State Warriors

Share
The Golden State Warriors have probably been the most dominant team in the NBA for the last decade. They won the NBA Championships in 2015, 2017 and 2018. Two players were the core elements for this success - Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson or better known as "The Splash Brothers". Both players have been a real nightmare for the opposing defence throughout the years. Curry's scoring capacity has been unparalleled as this is mainly due to his movement without the ball and his high-volume shooting. Thompson, however, has similar qualities, but his jump shot is near-perfect. His fantastic technique include a combination of balance and minimal follow-through. He has mastered this catch and shoot skill as he releases the ball in literally no time. Although Steph Curry didn't actually suffer any career-threatening injury, Klay Thompson has been battling with knee problems for over 2 years already. He torn his left knee ACL in game 6 of the 2019-20 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. Thompson made a full recovery, but in November 2020, he suffered another leg injury during an off-season training. He underwent a successful injury a few days later and he has been recovering ever since. The latest updates are that he is expected to be back right around Christmas. He took part in a full team practice on November 23. Thompson might be available for Steve Kerr for the games against the Memphis Grizzlies on December 24 or against the Phoenix Suns on December 26. He has further showed his desire to be back. Klay remained on the bench after the Golden State Warriors' game against the Blazers. His desire to be back is, without a doubt, understandable as he hasn't played basketball since 2019. If the Golden State Warriors keep their form and Klay plays as before his injury, then this team might even be better than the 73-9 Warriors from 2016.
