NBA players and families barred from roaming around Disney World parks

NBA players and their families will not be allowed to roam around Disney World’s parks when the 2019-20 NBA season resumes.

This comes after a 22-team tournament proposal was agreed to be held at the Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Also under consideration was whether to allow the family members of the players participating in the play-in tournament and playoffs to be “around”.

However, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that NBA players and their families will be barred from Disney World’s parks when the season resumes.

“For those visiting Disney World this summer and hoping to see an active NBA player roaming the parks and getting on rides, well, the NBPA made it clear that won't be happening for players, nor the family members joining them, sources said,” Wojnarowski tweeted.

The 22 teams that will partake in the season’s conclusion consists of the 16 franchises that reached the playoffs before the NBA was suspended.

They will be joined in the tournament by the six teams within six games of a playoff berth.

These are Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns.

The league is reportedly scheduled to resume on July 31, but the season could officially end on October 12, should there be a Game 7 of the 2020 NBA Finals.
