Nigeria Coach has not received any payment from Federation over the last 8 months

Share

Super Eagles Head Coach Gernot Rohr has now not been paid for eight months as the team is getting ready to face Central African Republic in two2022 World Cup qualifiers this week.

Rohr is on a reduced monthly salary of $45,000 and it is from there that he pays the team’s video analyst, chief scout as well as fitness and goalkeeper trainers.

Official representants from the federation have continued to promise that the salaries will be cleared soon.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had previously announced that national team coaches will no longer be owed salaries directly from the federation because the sponsors money is supposed to take care of this.

Rohr’s contract runs till June 2022. He has been demanded to win the 2021 AFCON to be played in Cameroon in January before receiving any extension offer.
