Nigeria player ratings: Omeruo, Bright good vs Guinea Bissau #AFCON2023Qualifiers

Share
Nigeria won 1-0 in Bissau to secure a victory over Guinea Bissau in the AFCON 2023 Qualifiers to get her campaign back on track and here are the player ratings from the match. Francis Uzoho (GK) His kicking was suspect again, his composure was worrisome but most importantly, he kept a clean sheet. (6/10) Bright Osayi-Samuel Energetic and ran into space further afield and his use of the ball was pretty okay. One of such moves earned him a penalty. Really gave a good account of himself in the two fixtures. (7/10) Semi Ajayi Defended decently on his first start in a while. Should have scored with a header from a corner in the first half. (7/10) Kenneth Omeruo (C) His experience on the night was a huge one for Nigeria. He was not fazed at all by the opponents and the crowd. He's gone on to show nthe coach why he is important. (7/10) Zaidu Sanusi An average performance but, like most of his teammates, improved in the second half. Will have to do much more to command the starting shirt. (6/10) Frank Onyeka Had a slow start but then managed the game somewhat better. (6/10) Alex Iwobi Energetic, played a lot deeper but not particularly effective in the final third. Still a key player for the Super Eagles. (7/10) Moses Simon Embarked on a couple of early dashes that Nigeria did not make the most of and his brilliant composure ensured he scored the only goal from the spot. (7/10) Terem Moffi Just a decent showing but would be upset that he couldn't take the chances that came his way. He was subbed early on in the second half. (6/10) Victor Osimhen Another sloppy night in front of goal. Was unlucky when one of his shots came off the upright in the second half. His energy was positive for the team. (6/10) Samuel Chukwueze Another poor night, he was unreliable holding up the ball. A big contrast of his club form. (5/10) Subs Joe Aribo Brought in some stability  in the midfield and created some good openings in attack. (6/10) With the win, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will seek to secure qualification for the next year's AFCON when they play Sierra Leone in June.
