The Northern Regional FA gathered clubs and delegates in Tamale to review last season and set the course for the 2026/27 campaign.
Football in northern Ghana is gearing up for a new season, and the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) has used its 2026 Ordinary Congress to set the direction. The statutory meeting kicked off at 9:00am on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, bringing together delegates, club representatives and other stakeholders from across the region.
As the NRFA's highest decision-making body, the congress looked back at the 2025/26 campaign before turning to the road ahead. Delegates went through the Association's Activity Report, the Financial Statements and Auditor's Report, and the proposed budget for 2026/27. They also examined the competitions calendar and the football development programmes planned for the coming season.
The gathering gave the Executive Council, led by NRFA Chairman Alhaji Abu-Hassan, a chance to engage clubs directly on what was achieved over the past season. Other matters tied to the administration and growth of the game in the region were also put on the table.
Grassroots football was a major talking point. Clubs and officials used the platform to raise the challenges affecting the game at community level, an important conversation as the region finalises its preparations for the new campaign. The session was also attended by the Regional FA Coordinator, Daasebre Adu-Asare.
