Nigeria’s Folashade Oluwafemiayo has once again etched her name into the history books, breaking her own world record in the women’s over 86kg para-powerlifting event.

China’s Wenjun Zhu claimed silver, while Iran’s Nikoo Rozbahani took bronze.

The triumph marks Oluwafemiayo’s fourth world title, adding to her previous victories in Mexico City (2017), Nur-Sultan (2019), and Tbilisi (2021).

Oluwafemiayo improved on her previous record of 167kg set at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, where she became the first para-athlete achieve that feat. She won gold and set a world record she has now surpassed.
