Share

Victor Osimhen scored his 50th goal in the colours of Galatasaray, and for the first time since his return from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, in the 3-1 away win over Faith Karagumruk in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday.

The Super Eagles forward started the midweek game against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid which ended in a 1-1 draw.

It was his first start for the club after he led Nigeria to the bronze medal at AFCON 2025 where he scored four goals and provided two assists to finish as the second highest goalscorer behind Morocco’s Brahim Diaz.

Osimhen scored the third goal against Fatih Karagumruk in the 55th minute off an assist from Ilkay Gundogan while Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara scored the other two goals.

Osimhen’s goal took his tally to seven goals in the Super Lig this season and 50 competitive goals in 59 games since his initial loan spell from Napoli last season.

The Istanbul giants remain top of the standings, four points clear of fierce rivals Fenerbahce.

Earlier on Friday, another Nigerian and AFCON 2025 participant, Paul Onuachu, scored in Trabzonspor’s 2-1 home win over Kasimpasa to take his league tally to 12 goals, one behind leading scorer, Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Basaksehir.
