Jordan Love threw three TDs and Christian Watson piled up 113 receiving yards after a mid-game hospital visit as Green Bay improved to 5-3.
The Green Bay Packers survived a sloppy night and a major mid-game scare to beat the Carolina Panthers 27-19 on Thursday. Three turnovers could not derail them, and the win lifts Green Bay to 5-3.
Christian Watson was the story. The Packers receiver left the game for a hospital visit, then came back and finished with 113 receiving yards. Few players could match that kind of impact on a normal night, let alone after a disruption like that.
Jordan Love ran the show, going 30 of 41 for 288 yards and three touchdown passes. He found Tucker Kraft, rookie Matthew Golden and Josh Jacobs in the end zone. He also threw one interception, a blemish on an otherwise composed performance.
Jacobs did his damage near the goal line. He scored on a four-yard catch and a one-yard run, even though he managed just 39 yards on 21 carries against the NFL's lowest-ranked run defense. The ground game was quiet, but Love's arm and Watson's resilience carried Green Bay home.
