The Paris 2024 Olympics came to a close on Sunday, with African nations securing a total of 13 gold medals.
Kenya emerged as the top-performing African nation, claiming four gold medals, two silver medals, and five bronze medals, for a total of 11 accolades.
Algeria followed closely behind, with three medals, including two gold.
Other African countries that won at least one gold medal included South Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt, Botswana, Uganda, and Morocco.
While African nations showed remarkable strength in various events, they fell short of reaching the top 10 in the final rankings.
