Pogba, Rashford fully fit for Man United’s first game when Premier League resumes

Manchester United stars Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford are expected to start the club’s first game when the Premier League resumes later this month.

Both players have not played in over three months, having sustained serious injuries which ruled them out.

The Old Trafford outfit is, however, set to face Tottenham when the 2019-20 season restarts on June 19.

Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he has a fully fit squad at his disposal, adding that the likes of Pogba, Rashford and Eric Bailly, who were injured, are back in contention.

“Well, we hope everybody’s going to be ready for the first game,” the Norwegian manager told Manunited.com.

“We’ve had time out so I don’t think we can expect that those lads who’ve missed lots of the football can last the full game.”

“…And of course, Paul and Marcus are back, Eric has been out for a long time, Scott [McTominay] was out for a long time, so we want to gel the team together again.”

Man United are currently fifth on the Premier League table, but are just three points off the top four places.

The Red Devils could also end the season with a trophy or two, as they are still in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Although Solskjaer hasn’t set his sights on any trophy, he expects the squad at his disposal to fight for everything.

“Of course, when you get to Man United, you want to end the season with trophies. But trophies won’t be what we’re talking about now,” he said.

“We’ve got to make sure we make this short spell before next season a good one for us and if it ends up with trophies, fantastic. We’ve just got to focus on what we can control and that’s our own performances. If that takes us to a final or two, it would be great.”

The returns of Pogba and Rashford should boost the club’s chances of finishing the season strongly.
