Premier League to resume without ball boys

Share

The Premier League has announced plans for its return, with gamed now set to be played without ball boys or girls in the stadium.

While players and coaches won’t be wearing any face masks, they are not allowed to spit or clear their noises during a game.

Players are also expected to enforce strict social distancing protocols when a goal is being celebrated.

Replacing the ball boys and girls will be a serialized system, while the physios, doctors and the fourth official will have to be in their masks.

The Premier League will officially return on June 17, with Aston Villa set to host Sheffield United.

All matches will observe a minute's silence to remember those who have died after contracting Coronavirus.

Also, heart-shaped badges will be worn on the kits of players in tribute to NHS staff at the frontline.

Meanwhile, only 300 people will be allowed in each stadium, with no more than 110 in the 'red zone' including players, club staff and officials.
