Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reportedly refused to pay Kylian Mbappé €80million (£70m) in salary and bonuses following his highly-publicized transfer to Real Madrid.
The French forward joined the Spanish giants on a five-year deal, ending a prolonged transfer saga.
According to L'Equipe, Mbappé's decision to leave PSG for free has sparked fury within the club, particularly with President Nasser Al-Khelaifi. To "save face" and mitigate the loss, PSG has withheld significant payments, including Mbappé's salary for April and May, as well as his February bonus.
"It's about not losing face in this matter," a source told L'Equipe, highlighting Al-Khelaifi's desire to maintain his reputation despite the club's failure to retain their star player.
