Richaun Holmes forced to wear goggles after a harsh eye injury

The 28-year-old center of the Sacramento Kings, Richaun Holmes, has been already sidelined for two separate periods this season. He suffered an eye injury in late November which forced him out for three games. Then, after one week in the NBA he went for the ball against Wendell Carter Jr. and Mo Bamba. Holmes took an unpleasant shot near his eye from the Magic's center. Unfortunately for him, he was forced to withdraw from the game midway through the second quarter. Holmes missed the next seven matches for the Kings as the team was further shorthanded due to new Covid-19 cases. Right before Christmas, on December 22, he made his return in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The match ended 89:105 in favor of the team from California. For his 17 minutes of play, Holmes managed to score 4 points and grabbed massive 7 rebounds. The highly effective center of the Kings enjoys a fantastic season so far. He averages 13.6 points and 9.2 rebounds for 23 appearances. Moreover, Holmes is shooting on a very high level, netting 70.6% of all shots attempted. The Sacramento Kings surely have a good enough team to fight for a Playoffs spot in the spring. They are currently 12th in the West with 13 wins and 20 losses. Unfortunately, the team wasn't able to use most of their players recently as they were put under the health & safety protocols. They undoubtedly have a chance at going past the Regular Season this year. With players like Richaun Holmes, De'Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, and Tyrese Haliburton, the team will be a big threat once they are back at full strength.
