Riyad Mahrez Loses Three Luxury Watches Worth £500,000 To Thieves

Share

Algerian captain Riyad Mahrez is the latest top footballer to be targeted by thieves after he had three luxury watches worth more than £300,000 stolen from his penthouse apartment.

According to media reports, the Manchester City star's home was raided by criminals who took off with about £500 000 in cash and valuables and rare football shirts worth up to £150,000 were also taken from the Algeria international.

"At around 5pm on Friday, 24 April, police were called to reports that four separate apartments had been burgled at a city centre block," a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said.

The Sun quoted a letter sent to residents which read: "Four apartments were accessed without authority using a fob which had general access throughout the building.

"The fob in question is now in our possession, has been fully deactivated and cannot be used again."

The report further states that gang of thieves broke into the winger's penthouse by using an electronic key fob before making off with his possessions.

The robbery continued an alarming sequence of Premier League stars being targeted by thieves.

Last month, Tottenham and England midfielder Dele Alli spoke of the "horrible experience" of being punched by armed raiders who stole watches and jewellery from his London home.
