Rudy Gobert reveals troubles with smelling after contracting Coronavirus

NBA star Rudy Gobert says he still struggles to smell, three months after testing positive for the novel Coronavirus.

The Utah Jazz centre became the first NBA player to contract the virus, having been diagnosed in March.

Speaking to French newspaper L'Equipe, Gobert said he is no longer able to smell from afar.

He said, after speaking to some specialists, he was told it could take up to a year before he things return to normal.

"The taste has returned, but the smell is still not 100%," the 28-year-old said of his condition.

"I can smell smells, but not from afar. I spoke to specialists, who told me that it could take up to a year [to return to normal]."

Gobert also opened up on whether was he was 100% ready to return to the court, insisting he cannot tell.

He explained that he doesn’t feel tired than usual anymore, and generally feels “like I'm in good shape.”
