Ghana Premier League champion Samuel Tetteh Mensah swaps Samreboi for Shkoder, signing with Albanian top-flight side KF Vllaznia.
Another Ghana Premier League product is heading to Europe. Right-back Samuel Tetteh Mensah has joined Albanian top-flight club KF Vllaznia, leaving FC Samartex 1996 after three seasons that helped reshape the story of Ghanaian club football.
Mensah arrived at Samartex from Tema Youth FC and quickly became a dependable presence on the right side of defence. He made 74 appearances for the Samreboi-based club across three campaigns, including 18 league outings last season, and earned a reputation for consistency and solid defensive work.
The biggest moment of his Samartex spell came when he was part of the squad that won the Ghana Premier League title, a landmark triumph that lifted the club into the top tier of the country's football powers. For a side that rose so quickly, having reliable players at the back was a big part of the journey.
Now the 74-game veteran of the Ghanaian top flight gets a fresh test in Europe. KF Vllaznia, based in the northern city of Shkoder, offer him a new platform to face different styles and levels of opposition, and a chance to show that Ghana's domestic league keeps producing players ready for the next step.
