Free agent Seamus Coleman admits hanging up his boots is on his mind, yet the ex-Everton skipper isn't ready to slam the door on his playing days.
Seamus Coleman is staring at the final chapter of his career, and he's not pretending otherwise. The former Everton defender, currently without a club, has admitted retirement is firmly on his mind.
The Irishman was careful with his words, though. He says he doesn't want to "completely draw a line in the sand" just yet, leaving room for one more move if the right opportunity appears. For now, he's weighing it up and taking his time.
Coleman became one of the Premier League's most recognisable full-backs during his long spell at Goodison Park, after arriving from Sligo Rovers in 2009. He wore the captain's armband with pride and became a fan favourite, admired for his drive, his attacking runs down the right and his resilience through injury setbacks.
Now unattached, he faces a decision many veterans know well: stay in the game or step away on his own terms. Whichever way he goes, the door is still ajar, and the football world will be watching to see whether Coleman lays down his boots or lines up somewhere new.
