Ghana's Lawrence Setordjie scored twice and set up another as Eintracht Frankfurt's youngsters crushed Gladbach 4-1 in the Bundesliga Talent Series.
Ghana's Lawrence Setordjie is making noise in Germany. The former Accra Lions captain scored twice and created another goal as Eintracht Frankfurt's reserves hammered Borussia Mönchengladbach 4-1 in the Bundesliga Talent Series, the Reserve League.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been knocking on the first-team door since arriving in the summer, and this performance is another strong argument. A two-goal, one-assist display away from home shows the creativity and end product that Frankfurt's staff have been looking for.
Setordjie has already trained with the senior group under Head Coach Adi Hütter and made a good impression in a friendly during the international break. The coach likes what he sees but is in no hurry to throw him into the Bundesliga mix.
"He's already been doing really well in training. Lawrence is incredibly agile, courageous, and cheeky. That's exactly what you want to see from a young player," Hütter said. He also urged patience: "We need to keep things in perspective and will continue to monitor him."
For now, the teenager's job is simple: keep producing in the Reserve League and keep forcing the conversation. If he maintains this form, Ghana could soon have another young name to watch in the Bundesliga.
