Jacob Stockdale marked his 150th Ulster appearance on Saturday, and he's getting honest about the emotion, his family and why he's 'boring' on Ireland.
Jacob Stockdale has joined Ulster's 150 club. The back reached the landmark on Saturday, and the milestone clearly meant more to him than a number on a team sheet.
Afterwards he spoke candidly about how emotional the occasion was. Tears were part of the story, and so was his family, who have been with him through the journey from emerging talent to one of the most recognisable names in the province.
Stockdale also had a laugh at his own expense. Asked about Ireland, he admitted he can be "unbelievably boring" on the subject, a sign of how carefully he treats the international game and how little he wants to talk it up.
For Ulster, 150 appearances is a real marker of commitment and staying power in a demanding sport. For Stockdale, it was a moment to pause, feel it and appreciate the people who helped him get there.
