Ghana's Ibrahim Sulemana is tired of moving every year and is determined to turn his Sassuolo loan into a long-term Serie A stay.
Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has made his intentions clear: after years of bouncing around Italy, he wants to settle down at Sassuolo. The Black Stars defensive midfielder is currently on loan from Atalanta, and the Neroverdi hold an option to make the move permanent.
At just 23, Sulemana has already worn the shirts of Atalanta, Hellas Verona, Bologna and Cagliari. Keeping a regular place in the team has been a struggle at those stops, with his form swinging between impressive and inconsistent along the way.
He says the constant movement has taken a toll. Speaking to Sassuolo's media channel, he explained that he has never enjoyed stability with one team since he started playing, because he ends up changing clubs every year. In his view, that cycle has not helped his development as a professional, and he is ready to break it.
Sulemana knows the decision will not be made on words alone. He admits he must work hard to win over both the coach and the club's director if he wants a long stay. The Sunyani-born player has already made three Serie A appearances for Sassuolo, and he will be hoping to build on that start and prove he deserves a permanent deal.
