Shamsudeen Sulemana bagged four as Ghana's U-15 Black Starlets beat Mexico 5-2 to stay perfect at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan.
Ghana's young stars are lighting up Baku. The National U-15 Boys beat Mexico 5-2 on Wednesday to book a quarter-final spot at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan, and Shamsudeen Sulemana was the man of the moment with four goals.
Sulemana was unplayable against the Mexicans, finishing with a one-man show that decided the contest. Abdul Aziz Issah supplied the fifth goal, and Ghana's attacking pace and sharpness kept Mexico on the back foot for much of the game.
The result extends Ghana's perfect run to seven wins from seven at the FIFA Talent Development Scheme tournament. They opened with a 4-1 win over Uzbekistan, then hammered Myanmar 7-1, Guam 7-0 and the Bahamas 7-0. Kazakhstan was edged 2-1, and the Republic of Korea was beaten by the same scoreline in the Round of 32.
Now the Ghanaians wait to learn their last-eight opponents. With goals flowing and confidence sky-high, this young side has the look of a team that wants the title.
