Super Bowl Champion Morotoluwa Ojomo Meets President Tinubu at Aso Rock

Nigerian-American defensive tackle Morotoluwa Ojomo has once again demonstrated his resolve to proudly identify with his Nigerian heritage after he paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa on Friday, February 28.

The meeting, which took place at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, had the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, as well as Ojomo’s family members in attendance.

Speaking at the event, shared on the official social media accounts of the Presidency, Ojomo lauded the president for receiving him at the Aso Rock Villa and expressed his readiness to support American football in Nigeria.

Morotoluwa won his first Super Bowl victory after the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, held in New Orleans.

This visit follows a celebration from Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who also praised Ojomo’s Super Bowl victory. President Tinubu acknowledged Ojomo’s roots in Lagos State before he moved abroad to pursue his football career.

“Grateful to be celebrated and welcomed by the President of my home country after winning the Super Bowl. Had a great conversation about the future of American football in Nigeria. Thank you for your time, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, His Excellency,” Ojomo said.
