Goals from William Dankwah and Godfred Yartey sent Swedru All Blacks into the top five and dropped Young Apostles into the Ghana Premier League relegation zone.
Ghana Premier League action in Wenchi delivered another twist on Sunday, as Swedru All Blacks came from a quiet first half to beat Young Apostles 2-1 and send the hosts tumbling into the relegation zone.
The opening 45 minutes were tight and cagey, with neither side able to find a breakthrough. After the restart, the Black Magicians showed far more purpose, and William Dankwah made it count in the 55th minute to break the deadlock.
Godfred Yartey then doubled the lead in the 82nd minute, seemingly putting the result beyond doubt. Young Apostles refused to fold and pulled a goal back in the 89th minute, setting up a nervy finish, but All Blacks held firm to protect all three points.
The win stretches Swedru's winning streak to three matches and lifts them to fifth in the table with 14 points. They will look to keep rolling when they host FC Ashantigold next.
For Young Apostles, it is a second home defeat of the season and a painful slide into the drop zone. They must regroup quickly, with a home date against Karela United next offering a chance to turn things around.
