Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson combine for 60 points off the bench to upset the Phoenix Suns. With a convincing 100-123 win, the Heat snapped a 3-game winning streak of the team from Arizona.
The victory came in as a huge surprise as Miami was a 10-point underdog ahead of the game. They were forced to play without Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler who are still recovering from injuries. Markieff Morris, Dewayne Dedmon, and Gabe Vincent were also sidelined for the match.
On the other hand, the Phoenix Suns were back at full strength as Deandre Ayton made his return. Even though that they had everything they needed, the Suns were simply dismantled until halftime, losing 50-71.
Tyler Herro led the way for the Heat with 33 points on 12-20 shooting from the field. Duncan Robinson tallied 27 points on a 53% overall performance. Their Turkish center, Omer Yurtseven, grabbed 16 rebound and gave 8 assists for 34 minutes.
Mikal Bridges and Deandre Ayton played on a different level than their teammates, averaging around 70-80% successful attempts. Bridges dropped 20 points on 8-11 shooting, while Ayton was 4-5 from the field, ending up with 12 points.
Unfortunately for the Suns, their top players, Devin Booker and Chris Paul, had an awful night. Both of them finished off with 33.3% FGM and on top of that, they combined for a total of 9 turnovers.
Cameron Payne, Jae Crowder, and Cameron Johnson also struggled for the Suns. They combined for just 26 points from 32 attempted shots.
The Suns' loss didn't affect their position in the overall standings in the West as they remain on top of the table with 30 wins and 9 losses. This, however, gave the Warriors an opportunity to take back the top spot, if the win against the Cavs on Sunday.
The Miami Heat continue impressing with their performance this season. Despite missing a lot of players throughout the last weeks, the team didn't fall back and kept its place in the top 3. They sit in 3rd place with a 25-15 record.
