Igor Thiago's second-half strike helped Brentford snap their winless run with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Brentford finally have a win to celebrate. Igor Thiago's second-half goal was the highlight as the Bees beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium, their first victory in five matches.
The result brings relief to the home side, who had been searching for a return to winning form. Thiago's goal after the break gave Brentford control of the contest, and they went on to see the game out with a second goal to seal the points.
For Forest, it was a frustrating trip to west London. They could not find a way back once Brentford edged in front, and they leave without a result after a display that lacked a cutting edge.
Brentford will be hoping this win is the start of a fresh run, with Thiago's finishing a timely boost. The striker's goal ended a spell in which the Bees had struggled to turn their efforts into victories.
