The Brooklyn Nets have been plagued with bad luck for the past couple of months, from health protocols, depleted roosters, and grueling game schedules to now Kevin Durant's injury
Durant was injured against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday after colliding with teammate Bruce Brown, apparently falling backward into him at 5:38 in the second quarter. He finished with 12 points in only 12 minutes of action.
After the collision, KD quickly grabbed his knee and initially tried to walk it off but was soon escorted out of the game. Durant was limping after the game as he left the fourth quarter.
With Kyrie Irving playing part-time and the team's roster depleted, Durant has seen heavy minutes for the past weeks as the Nets depend on him.
The 11-time All-Star is set to have a career season worthy of an MVP, lighting up the league and stat sheet while displaying insane efficiency. Durant averages 29.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game while making 52% of his field goal attempts.
Everyone is still in high hopes as KD is set to return from rehab for about four-to-six weeks from now, sources tell ESPN.
Durant would most likely return after the All-Star break on Feb 24. For now, Nets’ fans should expect a lot of Kyrie-Harden combo in the coming weeks.
