UFC planning Ngannou vs Miocic rematch in March

THE UFC are planning a second blockbuster pay-per-view in March featuring two world-title clashes.

During the press conference for Saturday’s UFC Fight Island 7, UFC President Dana White spoke about what’s coming down the pipeline for the first quarter of 2021. Among the UFC’s plans are a heavyweight title fight that pits champion Stipe Miocic and top contender Francis Ngannou. But the bout has yet to be officially agreed. Miocic secured a unanimous decision win against Ngannou in January 2018 - breaking the record for the most consecutive UFC heavyweight title defences. But the American lost his belt to Daniel Cormier later in the year before winning it back and retaining it in subsequent rematches. Ngannou's follow-up fight resulted in a unanimous defeat to Derrick Lewis but he has won his last four bouts on the spin to set up the Miocic rematch. The featherweight division had a shake up when Volkanovski dethroned Max Holloway in 2019.
