At the UERFA Congress in Bolgatanga, chairman Salifu Seidu Zida called on the region's football family to unite and build the next generation of talent.
Ghana's Upper East is pushing for a stronger football future, and its leading administrator says it starts with togetherness. At the Ordinary Congress of the Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA), held at the Regional House of Chiefs in Bolgatanga, chairman Salifu Seidu Zida urged everyone with a stake in the game to embrace unity and peace.
Zida asked the football community to set aside their differences and rally behind a shared goal: strengthening grassroots football, nurturing young talent and opening up more opportunities across the region. He stressed that lasting progress will depend on mutual respect and a collective commitment from club administrators, referees, coaches and other stakeholders.
As the Association's highest decision-making body, the congress also handled the business side of the game as it looked ahead to the 2026/27 campaign. Members went through the Activity Report, Financial Statements and Auditor's Report from the past season, and they discussed the budget for the new term.
The gathering drew senior figures from the national football structure. Ghana FA Executive Council member and Greater Accra Regional FA chairman Samuel Aboabire attended, along with Regional Football Associations Coordinator Daasebre Adu-Asare Michael, a sign of the attention on regional development as the new season approaches.
