Upper West football leaders gathered in Wa to review the past campaign and set the stage for the 2026/27 season.
Ghana's Upper West Regional Football Association has closed the book on its 2026 Ordinary Congress, locking in a key step as the region gears up for the 2026/27 season. Delegates, clubs and stakeholders met in Wa to take stock of the last campaign and map out what comes next.
The gathering took place on Tuesday, October 13, at the Upland Hotel, with proceedings starting at 9:00am. Executive council member Eugene Nobel Noel was present alongside club representatives and other figures from the regional game.
As the Association's highest decision-making body, the Congress carried real weight. Members went through the past season's activity report, financial statements and the auditor's report, then turned to the road ahead: the 2026/27 budget, the competitions calendar and football development programmes. Wider questions on the administration and growth of the game in the region also made the agenda.
The session gave the Executive Council, led by Regional FA Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Sadugu, a platform to speak directly with clubs and stakeholders about progress made last season. Grassroots football was a central theme, with clubs and other voices weighing in on the challenges holding back the game at that level.
With the Congress done, attention shifts to turning those discussions into action. For Upper West football, the new season now has its framework, and the focus is on building a stronger base from the grassroots up.
